Dad's catfish he caught using a 13 foot Okuma Surf rod on the beach of Lake Erie in October 2010.

Dad caught this Channel Catfish in the surf of Lake Erie close to Presque Isle in October 2010.  He was made successful by using a 13 foot Okuma surf rod, a 4 ounce pyramid sinker and a couple of minnows.  From cast to reel, it was only about a 3 minute wait.  This catfish was approximately 30 inches long and around 10 pounds.  Good job Dad!
